PhOENIX - Photonics - Intelligent and Proven Digital Educational Tools
Developing digital tools for photonics training.
PROJECT SUBJECT
The PhOENIX project is an interdisciplinary project led by ALPhANOV which brings together PYLA, the CATIE - Aquitain Center for Information and Electronic Technologies and PHOTONICS France around a common objective : developing digital tools for training in photonics.
Faced with a rapidly growing sector, those involved in photonics training must now enhance educational paths and optimize learning formats to respond to the urgency of training candidates in record time. New digital educational tools such as virtual reality, adaptive pedagogy or micro-learning appear to be optimal solutions for training a heterogeneous public, both in their initial qualifications and in their material training possibilities. However, research in education and ergonomics shows that many of these new digital educational devices are unfortunately counterproductive. This is primarily due to their lack of integration with user tests (user-centered design) and a foundation in educational or didactic methodologies during the design phase.
The ambition of this project is twofold. On one hand, it involves producing tools that facilitate and enhance training for the photonics sector. On the other hand, it aims to generate methodological knowledge and tools that facilitate the design of effective digital pedagogical innovations.
ALPhANOV's ROLE
ALPhANOV, through its PYLA training center, is developing digital tools for teaching photonics as part of this project, drawing on its expertise in training engineering. To achieve this, a multidisciplinary team made up of teacher-researchers, trainers, educational engineers, and IT developers is working to deploy digital learning tools and modules.
PARTNERS
FINANCING
The PhOENIX project is a winner of the DEFFINUM call for projects (Innovative Digital Training Devices), initiated by the Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Insertion as part of a comprehensive plan for the transformation and digitalization of training integrated into the Recovery Plan. This initiative is co-led by the General Secretariat for Investment (SGPI) and operated by the Banque des Territoires within the framework of France 2030.
